We are currently using Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe) to collect payments for both one-time products and subscriptions. However, we recently discovered that managing subscriptions—both on our end and for our members—would be much easier if we processed them directly through Stripe instead of Shopify Payments.
We would like to integrate Stripe as the payment processor specifically for subscription-based (digital and physical) products, while continuing to use Shopify Payments for one-time purchases. Could you provide guidance on how to achieve this setup within Shopify? Specifically, we are looking for:
- The best method to integrate Stripe for subscription products only, while keeping Shopify Payments active for one-time purchases.
- Any limitations or Shopify settings we need to adjust to allow this dual setup.
- Whether we need third-party apps or custom development to enable this functionality.
