Wrong currency formatting is allowed

Hi there,

we have found something that may be a bug in the general settings panel. When trying to change a currency format, we find that specifying a currency format placeholder is mandatory:

This is completely ok and expected, and I it is well documented on https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/international/pricing/currency-formatting

However, if in the placeholder you set something different than amount or any other of the options at https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/international/pricing/currency-formatting#currency-formatting-options, it is accepted. For example:

It seems that this should not be allowed, as it goes against the documentation.

Hey @sinuhe - thanks for bringing this up. I was able to replicate what you’re seeing on my end here, it seems like we accept variables that differ from the documentation in that input there like you mentioned.

I’ll raise this with the dev team on our end here and loop back with you once I have more info.
