I just realised that some of our apps have none of the “Public distribution” nor “Custom distribution” selected in the Distribution settings. These are our development apps (i.e. we use them during development) - but I’m wondering now whether they are effectively considered to be public or custom?

Hi Piotr,
It sounds like these would be custom apps (as in not on the app store either as unlisted or listed). Do you remember how you created these apps?
If I go to my Shopify Partner account, then choose Apps → Create App → Create App Manually, then I actually don’t need to set its distribution (custom/public) and can start using the API credentials to call the Shopify API straight away.
Okay - so in that case it’s technically neither custom or public, since the distribution method wasn’t selected. But for something like an API deprecation it would be subject to the custom app rules.
