Just received the email from Shopify saying they’re archiving “outdated, unhelpful, and untrusted” reviews. Hoping there will be an appeals process at some point.

What really hits hard is that we’ve spent hundreds of hours earning those genuine reviews – without popups, without incentives, and without pressuring merchants. Each 5-star review was the result of real support, long-term product improvements, and authentic relationships with our users.
Now, seeing those reviews silently disappear feels incredibly unfair. All that effort just wiped away – possibly by an automated system or a single person, with zero transparency or clear criteria.
Shopify labels them as “outdated, unhelpful, or untrusted” – but isn’t long-term satisfaction a sign of a reliable app? If they’re being removed just because they’re not recent, are we being punished for being long-time partners?
It’s not just a technical issue. It’s demoralizing.
