Just encountered an issue with a new requirement. The problem is that our app is focused on reporting, not analytics. We don’t track any frontend events—and we don’t need to. All information comes exclusively from the GraphQL API.
Not sure what to do if we don’t need that pixel.
Has your app been submitted for review or gone through annual review yet?
The review team will confirm the requirements at the time of review. If your app is solely focused on reporting that does not involve behavioral data from the merchants store, you should not be required to meet the web pixels requirement.
In that case, I would reply to the annual review email and let the review team know this shouldn’t apply to your app.
I received an email from noreply@shopify.com with a notice: ‘This email comes from a send-only address and can’t accept replies.’
