Hello everyone. This is my first post i hope i am following the guidelines and I looked for this exact questions and similars, with no luck so far.
I am building an app and am designing it to be compliant with BFS guidelines and requirements.
I understand there is guidance around colors, where we must be aligned with Shopify, no issues there.
The issue comes around the AI designated color, which is the one Shopify indicates as forbidden if we want the BFS badge.
from the BFS guidelines, a reason for rejection is listed as:
- An app uses the Shopify Sidekick icon and/or a color similar to Shopify’s magic purple color to denote an AI related feature.
Now, to me, it admittedly looks like we do associate the color to the AI feature:
Also a button that triggers an AI feature is denoted with this purple/viola.
Its very challenging, however, to have a substitute color, given purple/viola is the Polaris color for AI, and others are taken for other functions that would be misleading the user (e.g., blue for info, green for success, red for errors yellow for alert, etc.)
I am trying to understand:
- if this rule for rejection is strictly applied?
- what options we have in terms of deviating from the color and still be compliant (we dont use the exact tone of purple as Shopify’s).
- optionally I am curious about how all colors must be adhered to but the AI must not, maybe i misunderstand something but its very odd.
Thanks everyone!
Luca
