Clarification on Criteria

I’ve recently applied for the BFS and got a response from the app review team implying that Polaris is a requirement.

Has anyone gotten the badge without using Polaris? I also checked in with support but they only mentioned that the version of Polaris is irrelevant and that Polaris is indeed a requirement which seems to contradict it’s status as a “nice to have” within the guidelines.

There’s also this post on X which states that the app was given the badge despite not using Polaris: x.com.

For what it’s worth I noticed that the wording does seem to suggest that they “recommend” using Polaris.

My guess is that it may have become an actual requirement and they just have not updated the documentation yet to reflect that.

Hi Joshua - Though Polaris isn’t mandatory you should try your best to make your apps UI look similar to the admin (and by extension Polaris) as much as possible.
