Seeking Advice on Built for Shopify Badge Approval

Hi everyone,

We’re currently working on an app and trying to get approved for the Built for Shopify badge. Our app is built on Ruby on Rails with some custom libraries.

The first time we submitted the app, we weren’t using Polaris, and as a result, Shopify declined our submission. Their response was as follows:

Following that feedback, we made major changes to the app, completely redesigned the layout using App Bridge and Polaris, and ensured compliance with Shopify’s design guidelines before resubmitting. However, we were declined again, and surprisingly, we received the exact same response as before.

After the second rejection, we made further improvements—adjusting the layout, modifying column structures, and ensuring we weren’t repeating content unnecessarily. We submitted the app again, but once more, it was declined with the same response.

wanted to share this experience with you all and ask: Has anyone else recently faced a similar issue? If so, how did you manage to get approved?

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Umair,

DMing you for more info on your app.

Can you share a screenshot or the name of your app so we can check it out? I submitted two apps for BFS a couple of months ago, both built from scratch for the BFS. It still took about a month to go through reviews, make changes, and get approved. Getting these type of feedback from the app team is fairly common. If you share more details, I and others might be able to offer specific advice.

Hi Everyone,

I am not sure if you are getting my replies through email. I didn’t heard from anyone so I thought I can share the details here as I just need some suggestions.

App Name: DRIP: Returns For Sale Widget

Here is the small loom video showing the app

Thank You

Not sure but reading the email you got carefully it says AND/OR, so basically it’s a macro that you stuck on any of those. The easiest one to try first is your app name.

I don’t think they allow an apps name to be broken by “…”
