Bin Locations in Order View

What’s the easiest way to display a bin location saved to a product metafield so that it shows up next to the SKU in the order view ?

I’d like the bin location (stored in a metafield or any other method to assign this info to product) to appear in the same spot as the SKU when looking at line items in the Shopify Admin. Ideally, it should be visible to staff when fulfilling orders.

Does this require a flow to copy the metafield into a line item property at order creation, or is there a simpler method?

If you want this to appear in the same location as SKU on the orders page in Shopify Admin.
Then you will need to copy the information over from the product metafield or wherever you have stored this.

You could use a Shopify Flow to do this for example.

The line item properties could appear to the customer, depending on your usage of them.
If you prefix the line item property with an _ (underscore) it will be less likely to appear to customers.

Hi @crocoduck

Are you still seeing this issue after following the advice above? Otherwise I can mark this as solved.

Just to follow up on this, Shopify did release this feature which allows bin names to show up in order views only at the moment.

And limited to only one bin per variant at the moment

Bin Names would be more useful if editable in Inventory, just like stock.

Yes it can be marked as solved. But in their current form, BIN NAMES are not useful for me, currently I am only using Bin Names as a Metafield because it’s easy to edit and view. Shopify should make Bin Name visible and editable in Product Admin and in Inventory. Why is it not editable in Inventory ? I have abolished variants completely. I have only single products now.
