I’m working with a client who do some business in Japan and are using Translate & Adapt to provide their website in Japanese. All their fulfillment currently takes place in the UK.
We see a problem in that Packing Slips for Japanese orders are fully translated into Japanese. The UK-based warehouse fulfillment team does not read Japanese, so this makes it hard to verify that the correct products are being shipped.
I assumed it would be easy to change this so that the packing slips are not localized, or only partially localized, however this does not seem to be the case:
- I can’t request an English-language version of the packing slip on the order screen.
- I can’t remove the localized Japanese version of the packing slip from Adapt & Translate.
- I can’t prevent individual tags such as {{ line_item.title }} from being translated into Japanese.
- I can’t force translation of tags such as {{ line_item.title }} into a different language, say English.
- I can’t find any documentation on performing similar changes.
My conclusion at this point is, “no, this is not possible.” Can anyone confirm, or does anybody know different?
My workaround is likely going to be with the Order Printer app, but obviously this comes with issues of its own.
