I’ve set up a pricing plan using Shopify App Pricing in the Partner Dashboard with a graduated (tiered) usage-based pricing model. However, when I try to subscribe to the plan on my development store, I’m not able to complete the subscription.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to test this on a development store, or if there’s a specific setup required?
Hey @Asutosh_Mahapatra! This is expected behavior for dev stores. Development stores can’t subscribe to a paid or usage-based plan (graduated, volume, or per-unit) directly, so that approval gets blocked.
To test a graduated/tiered usage plan on a dev store, use the $0 private test plan instead. It’s in the Private plans section of your app’s pricing config in the Partner Dashboard. Create it, authorize your dev store’s .myshopify.com domain on it, then subscribe to that plan on the dev store. That lets you exercise your usage meters, tiers, and billing events without any real charge. Shopify App Pricing testing and private plans setup have more details that might be helpful going forward!
