Hi team! Exciting to see the new dev platform/dashboards evolving.
A couple of quick requests that will have a MAJOR impact on our workflows - with regards to Requesting Collaborator Access at scale:
1. We used to be able to quickly filter through stores that have installed our app and then, request collab access simply by clicking on the store > request access.
This meant we didn’t have to ask for the .myshopify URL of every merchant that installed our app.
Unfortunately, since the latest update and migration to the new dev dashboard, the request access button is gone. Poof! Just like that.
This minor change actually has had a significant impact on our workflows.
As an example, I might be on an onboarding call and setting up collab access for a merchant with 5 x stores. Previously, I’d simply share our app link and they would download our app on all of their stores.
As they download, these stores pop up when using this app installed filter and we would request collab access for each from there. Super clean. Super simple.
Now, in the dev dashboard, we need to get the merchant to share all of those .myshopify URLs.
And then we need to request access for each.
It sounds simple, but sometimes just getting the merchant to get all of these URLs eats away many precious minutes into our onboard. Our merchants’ time is limited so it’s important to get this stuff out of the way quickly.
2. We request collab access for many stores, many times a day.
It’s the SAME access we need for every single store.
Previously we developed a chrome extension to autofill the permissions we need. This saves us SO much time - especially during an onboard.
Going through and manually picking the specific permissions we need (there are about 10 things we need) is super tedious and things can get missed.
Request: Instead of us refactoring our chrome extension, it would be AMAZING if you could build this in native to the request page.
E.g. An ability to create saved ‘permissions’ profiles that a partner can apply in a single click when requesting collab access. Bonus points if you let us autofill the request message too!
I know the app community will absolutely adore this capability as much as we have this past 18 months!
