Curious now, as I had asked before about best way to gain access to a shop’s dev dashboard and have been directed to use staff access rather than collaborator access, but now I have a dilemma or a consideration here for stores that are being created FOR merchants and we need app access already.
I’ve created a store in my Partner account to be transferred (NOT my dev dashboard). I have invited several staff already and this will be a Plus shop with multiple brands. We’re working on getting data in and they are asking for credentials now so we can start importing data.
Problem is, when I try to visit Dev Dashboard in the dropdown link from the partner-created development store that will be handed off - it opens in MY Dev Dashboard. Will this be a handoff then when the store converts?

The merchant is asking for credentials to log into the shop?
The reason that it opens your dev dashboard is because the client transfer store is in your organization and your organization has a single dev dashboard. Once the client transfer store is transferred it will be in the merchant organization and will open their dev dashboard. Apps that are in your dev dashboard org cannot be transferred which is why, for now, we recommend using merchant custom apps which are still enabled on client transfer shops. We are working to address this.
Ah, that clears up all the missing pieces for me and I completely missed that we could still enable this for client-transfer stores (getting them staff access to the dev store and not being different there is not problematic at all - I was missing this key piece of information where I thought even for these shops this was no longer possible).
My confusion revolved around my misunderstanding that we didn’t have access to this anymore and that when I created a store just for them my concern was that when we went to transfer there not being a clear mechanism on my end to ensure this app stayed with their org when it moved over.
I was even thinking I’d have to possibly spin up a separate partner account or invite them to my partner account and team so they could have access so I just provided necessary credentials and we were at least ready to rock there but this makes things even simpler from this perspective.
