Today, Shopify CLI updated and I encountered a problem where I couldn’t load the theme editor page. If access theme editor on the Shopify admin page is still working. I tried creating a new store, initializing a completely new theme, and encountered the same error, so the problem can’t be with my theme code.
Reproduction steps
Run shopify theme dev --store *url*
in terminal press E to open theme editor
Additional info
Checking the devtools console shows a warning:
main-e4a52d1a9a07.js:2 using deprecated parameters for the initialization function; pass a single object instead
main-3403453323ba18a…660d5d7876dc.1.js:6 Dux iframe sync: Blocked message from unauthorized origin: https://admin.shopify.com
I am also getting this issue since the update! I also had a lot of issues editing other themes on the store. I found that I can no longer click “open in new tab”, I MUST click the edit theme button and open in the same window.
completely blocked for the whole day, tried 20 workarounds , no official communication on the dev stores .. what is the situation. this is a critical bug for all of us
Could you please share an update on this issue? It has now been affecting us for quite some time and is becoming a significant blocker on our end.
We are still experiencing the same problem and haven’t seen any improvement so far. Even an estimated timeline or a brief status update would be greatly appreciated, as it would help us plan accordingly.
