Do all Shopify stores have variant in the url?

Hi

Can anyone let me know if all Shopify stores follow similar structure when it comes to variants or merchant has the ability to change url?

Reason I wanted to know is I want to get the variant id of the product. By default first variant id will be available in the selected-variant but when we switch to other variant only url gets updated.

No, this is completely down to the theme and if it pushes the variant ID in the URL.
