I manage an existing app on the Shopify app store and I’m upgrading our OAuth to meet specifications. Currently the user enters the store name and we redirect them using the store domain.
I’m reading about generating a custom app installation link in the partners portal but I can’t find where to do that. Is it possible to generate with an existing app? If I can’t get an install link is my only other option to send our users to the app store page?
Here are steps:
Go to App overview page and Choose distribution.
After you go with Custom distribution, input store domain.
Generate link and use it to install the app on Store.

Like I said it’s an existing app, that was created before I took it over, and I don’t see that prompt on the overview page. What it looks like is that since the distribution method has already been selected for the app we’re locked in to public app store installs?
Aha, gotcha. Yeah, it is locked into public app store installs. It is impossible to change it.
