1, Two different stores/accounts left 1-star reviews on our app.
2, Both are connected to the same person/team.
3, In one case, the app was never even used before leaving the review.
4, In another, the review was left under the name of a well-known UK furniture brand that doesn’t belong to them.
We tried to contact the users but never received a reply. This makes us feel it could be intentional abuse rather than genuine feedback.
We’re a small but passionate geeky dev team, working very hard to improve our product for users. That’s why this situation feels very unfair and unreasonable — and honestly, we don’t understand why someone would deliberately do this.
Has anyone else faced similar situations with malicious reviews on the Shopify App Store? How did you handle it, and is there a formal way to appeal for removal of such reviews?
I’m sorry to hear that, as a fellow small app developer I totally understand how frustrating it is to have unfair reviews posted against your apps.

Reviews go through a meta-review period by Shopify. They screen reviews for quality issues.
Have you identified that the reviewer is a Shopify Partner?
If so you can report a malicious partner to Shopify. Make sure to include all of these details and as much evidence as you can that this is malicious behavior.

I have noticed both stores come from the same place, have the same format, don’t use our app, leave similar review (which I also found on similar inauthentic 1-star review posts in Shopify forum, like, good concept, but high price and low loading speed), impersonating other brand. I tried to contact them and provide help, no reply at all. Do you have more suggestions?
