Help us with the exact/possible architechture to build a 1-click COD Form application(Public app) like other approved apps

@shopify-app-dev

We are building a COD Form app that works similarly to other approved apps on the Shopify App Store, such as EasySell COD Form, Releasit COD Form, and other COD form apps.
Our app displays a quick COD popup form on the product page where customers enter their shipping information. When the customer clicks the Order Now button for a COD order, they are redirected directly to the Thank You page without going through Shopify’s native checkout as there is no payment transaction is happening, and the order is created.

Our app is designed to work in the same way. Since there is no payment involved when placing a COD order, we want customers to complete their shipping information in the popup form and, after clicking Place Order, be taken directly to the Thank You page instead of Shopify’s native checkout.
We would like to understand the exact APIs, implementation approach, and review-compliant flow that apps like EasySell COD Form, Releasit COD Form, and other approved COD form apps are using because they also redirect the customers directly to the Thank you page without showing them the Shopify’s native checkout page.

We are not asking for their proprietary implementation—we only want to know the Shopify-supported APIs and the correct implementation approach so we can build our public app in a compliant way and get it approved without violating any policies.

There are already many approved public apps on the Shopify App Store that appear to provide the exact same user experience, including:

  1. Releasit COD Form & Upsells
  2. EasySell COD Form & Upsells
  3. CodForm – COD Form & Upsells
  4. COD Form & Upsells: COD Rocket
  5. Madgic COD Form & Upsells
  6. Priya COD Form: Made In India
  7. COD Form & Upsell – CodMonster
  8. EasyOrder COD Form & Order Form
  9. ScalOrder COD Form & Upsells
  10. Codify COD Form Upsell Fraud
  11. FormBoost COD Form & Upsells
  12. Preventify: COD Form & Upsells
  13. Yashipe COD Form

Especially there two apps:-
1.

This app has got the approval in January 14, 2026

This app has got the approval in June 1, 2026

If Easysell COD Form, Releasit COD Form and other COD Form apps, “Especially PREVENTIFY COD Form & YASHIPE COD FORM” areapproved on the App Store using the identical technical approach, rejecting our app for the same implementation feels inconsistent. We’re not asking for special treatment — just equal treatment.

Hey @Nehal_Ibrahim - thanks for reaching out here.

I can’t speak to the implementation or review status of specific apps on the Shopify App Store, and we can’t overrule App Review decisions from the forums.

That said, the public guidance I can point to is the App Store requirement to use Shopify checkout. For public apps, flows that bypass checkout or payment processing, or create/register transactions through the Shopify API in connection with that activity, aren’t permitted.

For COD/manual-payment orders, the supported path would be for the merchant to configure manual payment methods in Shopify checkout, then have the buyer complete the order through Shopify checkout. Your app can still build around that flow, but creating the order from a product-page popup and sending the buyer directly to the Thank You page without checkout is the kind of flow App Review may treat as checkout bypass.

I definitely understand why seeing other live apps makes this feel inconsistent, but we can’t confirm those apps’ implementation details here.

Let me know if I can clarify anything here on our end and I can help out for sure, I understand it’s not the most ideal situation so happy to help out if I can.
