Indexation issue after putting a password on website

We launched a website in March, and then put a temporary password on the website.

We removed it after a few days, we resubmitted the sitemap, but since, no impressions registered in the Search Console.

Why is that, and how to solve this issue : any suggestions ?

Hey @juilletmarketing, does the search console report any crawl errors, or recent activity?

Would you be able to share the URL here so myself (or anyone in the community) can look and see if anything stands out to them on the storefront?

Hi @KyleG-Shopify , thanks for reaching out. Here is the URL: https://thefrosteam.com. If it may help, here also a result of the URL inspection from the GSC.

Thanks for sharing that. Doing a google search for the domain, I do see that it looks like the password page is the page that is indexed currently

I do see it does redirect as expected so your domain should be configured properly. Might be worth double checking that redirect though. If you request indexing does anything change?

It also looks like there’s no sitemap detected. This guide here can help with submitting that: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/seo/find-site-map#submit-your-sitemap-file-to-google-search-console

Hi Kyle, thanks for your answer.

None. I’ve submitted it many times over the last weeks. No change…

That is odd, because the sitemap has been submitted also a few times since the password has been removed of the website : https://thefrosteam.com/sitemap.xml.

The same problem is happening with the Bing Webmaster Tool.

Here are the guidelines they mention : Bing Webmaster Tools.

Any ideas why ?

Below, the sitemap submissions.

@KyleG-Shopify , any idea why?

From what I see here, I don’t see anything that stands out on your site that would prevent indexing as it seems to be submitted just fine. This could be a delay on the search engine side.

One thing you could try though is to install the google channel to your store and link up Google analytics. This may help reset things on their end, or may point out some issues during the setup process that aren’t obvious here.
