So the install and uninstall numbers are back on the Dev Dashboard. Good news, and thanks to the team for sorting it out.
They didn’t just change what the numbers mean, they removed them completely for about a week. Same-day uninstalls, the active merchant view, all gone with no notice. That feels deliberate, like there was some reason behind it, and I’m not sure we ever heard what it was.
And that’s the part that bugs me. If there was a reason to pull them once, that reason probably still exists. Which means it could happen again.
These aren’t vanity numbers for us. Same-day uninstall is how we tell if onboarding is working. We only noticed the gap by accident, and a week without it is a week running blind.
My question is less about the metrics being back and more about whether we can count on them staying. Anyone else thinking about this, or already keeping their own copy of these numbers somewhere?
