Install data is way off

We see people installing the app in analytics, then in partners dashboard it doesnt show any installs, in dev dashboard its another story. Like there is no possible way of knowing how many installs and uninstalls we get at this point. We installed our app on a store just to test it out and guess what - no history of that happening even tho we for sure installed it.

Dev dashboard shows 30 percent more installs than in shopify partners, and both of them might be showing not all installs. This is very bad since our app is using shopify managed pricing.

Is it a temporary thing? Perhaps there’s something wrong with our app config?

We also noticed this behaviour and it went so far that we in som cases didnt even notice new customers onboarding because we were somewhat relying on the events being sent correctly. Since we also use the managed pricing, we need the accurate data for invoicing and accounting.

We have not changed our app config in a while.
Did you reach out to Shopify already with this matter?

Best Regards,
Nicola

I have not but I will right now, will keep you updated. But we’ve been testing this all morning, checked our config and we found out that it’s not apps job to track installs, there’s only uninstall webhook which is used for your own db purposes. I really hope the numbers update soon.

We had the suspision that numbers arent accurate early on, but only now it’s really obvious.

Thank you!
If I find something I will let you know too.

We knew for a long time that what Shopify reports does not match at all with the real numbers. I mean, there is already a gap between the dev dashboard and the App overview page. But we always considered their event management to be consistent. But apparently, as with so many things in their APIs, it is impossible to use it as a source of truth…

Basically what support said is dev and overview arent supposed to match. There is 5 day sync period for overview.

Also seeing this behavior - from my own logging and db, I can see new merchants signing in, but they are not appearing in the partner dashboard.

@Peter_Strand just recently or since long time ago? Because for me only recently it stopped tracking isntalls/uninstalls.

Yeah I’m seeing the same thing on my end as of last week.

Users install the app and use it properly but Shopify doesn’t pick it up, and therefore Mantle doesn’t either - causing issues with usage and billing.

We’re seeing the same issue on our side as well.

Starting Feb 13/14, install/uninstall events stopped appearing in the Partner dashboard, the numbers look off, and the “Request access” button is also missing for newly installed stores.

I contacted Shopify Support on Saturday, they said they would escalate it internally to the engineering team. No update yet on our end.

@Liam-Shopify would appreciate any update if available :folded_hands:

Same here, it started on Friday and has been like this ever since. We can see some events, like store closed, and a few subscription events (not sure if that’s the full list), but we’re definitely not receiving any install or uninstall events.

Yeah.. also seeing the same thing. No install or uninstall events since last week.

@Liam-Shopify can you please escalate ASAP? This is causing issues with app onboarding, causing merchant confusion.

Seeing same thing since Friday

Just spent some time on live chat support with Brandon and they’re looking into it. It’s definitely a bug. And I see him running some test installs on my app. Thankful for the support and I hope it gets resolved soon!

Thank you @Diego_Reyes , the amount of people who are noticing same issue makes it very clear that it’s a platform bug. Also noticed that GA4 isn’t receiving full data which is another piece of evidence.

We are counting on the support team.

Quick update from our side: from what we can see, everything looks back to normal on our end now.

Hope it’s the same for everyone else.

Hey folks - just wanted to confirm that we shipped an update for this yesterday, and the correct data should be appearing now. If there’s any missing data please let us know here.

Thank you @Liam-Shopify! Everything is as it should be now.

The issue was fixed but now it seems it’s back again. @Liam-Shopify

Is everything still operating as normal for you guys @zyga_apps?

I am seeing this issue too. Customer has installed app but I can’t see them in partner dashboard and can’t send collab requests
