Integration with third party system that already has sales component

We are looking to integrate shopify into our app that manages a catalog of more than 1.5M SKUS.
Shopify would be used for managing the retail web sites and ecommerce.

This system already has a component that handles POS and bulk sales for merchants.

Will these components in our system prevent our app from being approved in the app store? Is there a way to integrate with shopify without app approval, given that new legacy apps will no longer by supported past Jan 1 2026?

Looks like a custom app is the way to go, as long it isn’t a “legacy” custom app.

Can anyone confirm this?

A custom app that merchants can install via an install link sounds like this would be the best option, and this will not require a review for the app store.
