Issue: Draft orders with Shopify Functions + sales attribution fail to load checkout in POS

We’re encountering an issue in Shopify POS when working with draft orders that meet all of the following conditions:

  • The draft order contains items affected by Shopify Functions
    • Tested with:
      • Cart Transform Function
      • Discount Function
  • The draft order has sales attribution applied
  • The draft order is saved, then later loaded to complete checkout

Environment

  • Device OS: iOS 26.1
  • Shoipfy POS app version: 10.15.2

Expected behavior

The draft order should load correctly and allow checkout to proceed in Shopify POS.

Actual behavior

When clicking Checkout in Shopify POS, an error appears:

“Couldn’t load checkout. There was an issue with the cart.”

Workaround

The only workaround we’ve found so far is to:

  1. Remove the sales attribution
  2. Reapply the sales attribution
  3. Proceed to checkout

Question

Is this a known issue or limitation when combining Shopify Functions with sales attribution on draft orders in POS? If so, is there a fix or recommended approach planned?
