Yesterday was announced a major update with how collections will work from July. Today is June the 18th so it’s 12 days notice to migrate before it goes live.
Our app is fully built around collections so it requires us to do heavy migrations.
Could we have some update about it, and someone to answer quickly? We have very little information about it so far.
Notably we need more details about:
- what will change for merchants in the admin?
- how will work sorting on collection sources?
- how it will work as of July when existing collections are migrated and how to prepare and how to do a progressive migration for the app without breaking on the migration day when existing collections are using the new system?
- Can apps deal with collection sources created by merchants?
- Can merchants add more sources to a collection that was create by an app?
- what will change in collection webhooks? Is there a webhook to listen to products added / removed to collections/sources?
- can we have a sandbox with what it looks like after shopify has migrated existing collections so that we dont ship blind?
- what is CollectionConditionsSourcesByApp: CollectionConditionsSourcesByApp - GraphQL Admin ? Notably does it make it possible to have an app pushing products to a collection without the merchants being able to add/remove them (that’s something I request a while back)?
- And probably more as we’re doing the migration.
