OpenID (Auth0) error (500) for some users

Short description of issue

Hi, some users in the store of one of our clients are experiencing login issues on Shopify. We’ve connected Auth0 via OpenID and everything is working fine for many users, but some are getting a 500 from Shopify’s side. The data in Auth0 and Shopify for working and not working users is the same except ID/Email/Password. So I guess this is an error on Shopify’s side.

Reproduction steps

  • Click on login on Shopify
  • enter credentials in Auth0 & click “login” in Auth0
  • Returning to shop results in a 500 for some users

I’m not seeing reports of this from other partners/ merchants - so it appears to be something unique to whichever store this is. Has the merchant/ account owner contacted Shopify support directly? That may be the best route as we’d need to authenticate before digging into store logs, which isn’t possible on the forums.
