Over two weeks in review

Hi.

I can see in logs that they have tested with 3 different Shopify review stores for about an hour each, but then it can take 3-4 days before they test again - it feels very ineffective. It’s now been over 2 weeks now. Does it usually take this long?

Been big waits for a while unfortunately. They are just getting about overwhelmed with shitty AI apps. They will get to you!

Understandable. It’s just frustrating to see that they have started to review it, but it stops for 2-3 days before they continue to review it.

I’ve got a BFS review currently happening for one of my apps, and I’m seeing the same thing. As I understand it, they just have a few layers of automated and manual reviews! Good luck with your review

Hi @Xhale_group, two weeks is within what other devs are reporting right now, so it’s not unusual, but the multi-day gaps usually mean the reviewer is waiting on something. Check the review email thread and the submission notes in your Partner Dashboard: if a question was asked or the reviewer hit a login wall, the clock effectively stops until you reply. Make sure demo credentials, staff access and test payment steps work without them emailing you. Pushing a new version mid-review is often reported to restart things, so check with Partner Support first. Has the reviewer asked you anything yet?

Hi! Thanks for the update. I haven’t received any emails or questions by the reviewers yet. We had some issues with the billing but I can see that the reviewers has successfully passed it, so I am not sure why it take so long now. I guess I just have to wait and see…

I guess two weeks is not too bad when few months ago people could wait for over two months

We started the review in May and had to wait 2 months for the first review, but we had to fix some things, so we waited to resubmit until we were 100% ready. It didn’t take more than 1-2 days to get a reviewer, but since we got someone to review the app, it has been going super slow.

Hi @Xhale_group

Two weeks with multi-day gaps is common right now, but the gaps usually aren’t random. Check your app’s status in the Partner Dashboard and read the review notes closely. A few days of silence often means the submission is queued for a second reviewer, or that Shopify is waiting on you — typically for demo credentials, a test store with the app already installed, or an answer in the submission thread. Keep the app’s contact email monitored and make sure billing goes through Shopify’s Billing API, since that’s a frequent bounce-back.

What does your app status currently show in the Partner Dashboard?

It’s “Submitted” “We’re reviewing your submission—check your email for updates” - but I haven’t received any emails, so I guess I just have to keep waiting.

if it took alot of more time just simple withdraw the app and submit it again.

What a terrible advice? Then I will go back in line.

Agreed, definitely DO NOT withdraw your app and resubmit. You will be going to the back of the queue.

Some great advice here from everyone.

I do want to add that seeing a gap in installs from a test store doesn’t mean that the review isn’t going forward. There are likely some additional checks or internal reviews happening behind the scenes. Continuing to monitor for any feedback from the reviewers is best. Do not withdraw the app unless you want the review to be cancelled.

Hi @uniweb_commerce. This one sits with Shopify’s Theme Store team, nobody here can approve an architecture for you. What is safe to rely on: {% partial %} and {% block %} are still developer preview, and Shopify’s own docs say preview features can change, so building a submission on them is a risk nobody outside Shopify can sign off on. Check the Skeleton repo’s release tags and pin one that still ships sections and JSON templates if you want the documented OS 2.0 path. If it helped, mark it as the solution.
