I’m running shopify app dev using an extension that targets the new pos.receipt-header.block.render target.
I’m using a Dev Store, but I still get this error:

18:04:01 │ receipt-blocks-extension │ └ pos.receipt-header.block.render is in developer preview and cannot be deployed to production stores.
Is this because I’m not in the preview yet? How will I know if/when I’m in the preview?

I can confirm that this is expected behaviour if your Development Store is not included in the POS UI extensions Feature Preview.
This is mentioned in the Receipt Targets documentation, and this is only available by invite at this time, so you are unfortunately not able to test this POS UI target out just yet unless your partner organization has specifically been invited to take part in this Feature Preview.
Receipt targets are part of the POS UI extensions feature preview. This feature preview is available on an invite-only basis and requires POS UI extensions version 2025-04 or higher and POS app version 9.31.0 or later.

This preview is available by invitation only at this point for certain partners, and we are unfortunately not able to accept requests for invitations at this time.
However if your organization is of a Shopify Partner Tier that has a named Partner Development Manager, I would recommend discussing it with your Partner Manager and see if they can help get an invite to the preview.
