Shopify Analytics - Landing page type bug after internationalization

Hi,

Not certain that this is the right place to report this kind of behavior, but here goes : when building reports with Shopify QL, and trying to make statistics on the visits by landing page type, it seems that internationalized URLs are not recognized by the type system.

Is this a known bug already ? Do you know of any way to circumvent this problem ?

Hey @Alex-OddBrew I will look into this.

Looking into this further, would either of these work for what you’re trying to do?

FROM sessions
  SHOW sessions
  WHERE landing_page_path CONTAINS '/products/'
  GROUP BY landing_page_path
  SINCE -30d UNTIL today
  ORDER BY sessions DESC

Filters to product pages using CONTAINS (case-insensitive, matches anywhere in the path) — swap /products/ for /collections/, etc.

FROM sessions
  SHOW sessions
  GROUP BY landing_page_path
  SINCE -30d UNTIL today
  ORDER BY sessions DESC
  LIMIT 100

Returns all raw landing page paths with session counts so you can bucket them into types downstream.

Hey @Alex-OddBrew did the above help at all?

Hi @KyleG-Shopify , yes it works good thank you ! Any idea if this will be fixed in the future though ?

Thanks for confirming those work, Alex. I don’t have an idea of when this will be fixed in the future, but we are looking into it.

Hey :waving_hand:

We should have (mostly) fixed this as part of Shopify Analytics session measurement improvements - Shopify Changelog so you should already be seeing URLs with the localized/Market prefix be classified correctly starting on September 21st onwards.

We’re still missing some language-country locale codes (e.g. fr-lt) but I’ll have a fix for that deployed soon and new data should have those page types classified correctly in those cases, too.

Thanks for bearing with us while we get this addressed!
