Significant drop in checkout_completed pixel events

Hi there - we’ve noticed a significant drop in checkout_completed pixel events beginning around 10-11am ET yesterday, July 15.

According to our analytics this drop happened at the same time and roughly the same degree across all devices and browsers, but it seems to have not affected users outside of the US.

This is all without any change to our app, so that’s what leads me to believe that it’s a result of some change on Shopify’s end, or maybe a third party.

Has anyone else noticed this and does anyone know of any changes recently that might have caused this?

We are seeing it too, can’t figure it out yet: Checkout_completed not firing

Also 10AM EST, stopped completely for few hours, then after that only about 15% conversions received (all our traffic is in US).

Hi folks - thanks for flagging. This was a temporary issue and is now resolved. Everything should be working as expected now.

@Liam-Shopify thank you for following up - would you mind sharing a bit more details as to what time this started and when it ended? And if there’s anything we could’ve done to prevent it or was it platform-wide?

I believe the issue was only occurring for approx 24 hours and it was a platform issue, so no action was required by stores or apps.

OK. We are sure it lasted more than 2h, though. The full outage was for 2h but it did not recover completely for at least 24h.
