Our mobile app platform is running into issues where store credit does not show as a payment option in production on mobile apps. It shows up if we are in test payments.
If we are using the Shopify Checkout Kit, why would a payment method not show up?
Does Shopify have any plans to expand this beyond Online store, POS and Shop?? It’s hurting brands that rely on store credit as a payment method for their business and it’s hurting the customer experience. This over time has the potential to hurt conversion.
We are urging Shopify to reconsider it’s stance on allowing store credit in mobile apps when the merchant and brand meet the requirements to use it.
I can confirm that this is expected behaviour and a known limitation at this time that Shopify Store Credits are currently only available for us with the Online Store, POS, and Shop Sales Channels.
I can’t speak to any up coming features or platform changes, but I do recommend keeping an eye out on our changelogs for more information if this gets updated in the future.
I also have submitted some feedback internally on your behalf that you would like to see Store Credit available on 3rd party Sales Channels as well. Again, while I can’t guarantee when or if it will be added, I can assure you that our developers and product managers do take all our partner and merchant feedback into great value when determining future features and platform updates.
