Urgent: Transferred Store Stuck on “Buy Plan” – Can’t Access Admin or Download Theme Backup

Hi everyone,

I really need urgent help regarding a Shopify store issue that’s completely blocking my work.

Background:

  • I created a store through my Shopify Partner account

  • Then I transferred ownership to my personal email

  • My second account successfully accepted the ownership transfer

  • That same email already has an active Basic Shopify plan

The Issue:

Right after accepting the transfer:

  • The store is stuck on “Buy a Plan”

  • I cannot access the admin/dashboard

  • I can’t open Themes or any settings

  • It’s like the store is locked unless I purchase another plan

What I Already Did:

  • Completed the ownership transfer properly

  • Accepted it from the second account

  • Contacted Shopify Support (live chat)

  • Stayed in queue and waited for a whole day, but didn’t get any resolution

At this point, I feel completely stuck — that’s why I’m posting here.

Why This Is Urgent:

I need to:

  • Download a theme backup from this store

  • Upload it to another store

But I can’t do anything because I don’t have access.

Store Details:

  • Store name: Theseasonsofme

  • Partner organization: test

  • Partner account email: (Contact Me For Email {My Email})

My Questions:

  1. Why is Shopify asking me to buy a plan again when I already have one on the same email?

  2. Does each store require a separate plan even after transfer?

  3. Is there any way to access or download the theme backup without purchasing another plan?
