Discount Allocator functions were announced two years ago but still haven’t been released.
The docs say they can only be installed on a developer preview store but the preview isn’t available to select, I tried installing on a development Plus store but it said the store was ineligible.
My questions are
- Will Discount Allocator functions ever be released? If so, what requirements will there be on the store (only Plus, only custom apps)?
- Is there another way of only applying a discount code to lines in a cart defined by a function?
Thanks

Currently we don’t have a timeline for the Discount Allocator Function becoming available for use in production shops. You can always look at the checkout product roadmap to verify.
I’ll take a look at the documentation for you
You can leverage the productDiscountsAdd.candidates.targets.cartLine field in the function run result, in order apply a discount to a specific cart line. Is that sufficient for your use case?
Hi,
Thank you for the quick reply, I would like the rule for applying the discount to apply to all discount codes, which is why Discount Allocator is perfect for the situation.

FYI, the product roadmap you linked appears to be outdated. We’re now well into Q2, yet the roadmap still shows unshipped items in Q1, and there’s no further insights…
