Why we can't use Discount Allocator API on Plus store

Discount Allocator API is still in developer preview but the documentation also mentioned that we can use it on Shopify Plus with custom apps.

I created a custom app with 1 discount allocator function and installed it on a Shopify plus store. When registering the function using discountsAllocatorFunctionRegister, I’m getting the following error.

Is there a way to use it on Production Plus store or should we wait until it’s out of developer preview?

I imagine that’s just a heads up for once its out of developer preview. So you can only use it on a development store with the developer preview activated.

I was testing this on a development store with Feature previews enabled but still can’t register.

Getting this error: “The shop is not eligible for discounts allocator functions.”

Is Shopify deprecating this without releasing it?
