Are we supposed to make a new dev store? My dev store doesn’t show up in dev stores and I can’t switch to it with the “switch” button.

Hi @P_Guardiario. Assuming your organization has already migrated: Your existing app development stores should show up on Dev Dashboard stores page. You can also create new dev stores there if you wish.

If you had an existing app development store that isn’t showing up in the Dev Dashboard, we can take a look to see what happened with it.

Thanks. I haven’t migrated anything yet. Are you saying I need to migrate the dev store as well as the app? I don’t see instructions for that in the migration guide

You don’t need to do anything to migrate dev stores. They get migrated automatically when Shopify migrates your organization.

Ok, and that’s fully automatic? So in other words I need to wait for Shopify to do that before I can use the dev dashboard? I don’t understand why I’m getting emails about it now if that’s the case.

I created a new app to test the Dev Dashboard before having the mechanism to auto-migrate the Partner app to the Dev Dashboard. In the App distribution, UI separates two tabs: “Apps“ and “Developer Dashboard app“.

How to migrate all my partner apps to the Dev Dashboard @Rod

I ran shopify app config link but there is no uid was added. Please help @Rod. Thank you

Hey y’all. No action is required until Shopify auto-migrates your apps and stores to the Dev Platform and Dashboard. Per the email:

During September, your app(s) will be automatically migrated to Shopify’s new Developer Platform. After migration, you need to deploy your app so that the CLI will assign a new ID to each extension. This only happens on the first deploy. After that, future versions will deploy as usual.

You’ll know when you’ve been migrated either from a prompt in Shopify CLI, or from the redirect links in the Partner Dashboard.

I see the Dev Store within new DEV dashboard but not the apps. Apps are not listed yet, but stores are.

Couple Questions:

  • My app is using has single extension which is a Function for checkout extension. would this app/extension be effected by new upgrade? Would Shopify list this app in Dev Dashboard as part of migration. do i need to generate UID for this app?

  • In case i need to Generate UID, should i wait for the app to be listed in DEV dashboard to do that?

  • Would the store using this app be effected if i dont upgrade by deadline, or the apps would be still kept inside Partner account?

The upgrade guide is not covering all these scenario the more i read thru the more i get confused. Unfortunately there are a lot of unknown and not much info.

If you dont mind please answer those questions as clear as possible.
