[Bug] BFS πŸ’Ž criteria check - Install count is not being updated

I am waiting for this criteria to become checked to apply for BFS and we already for sure passed more than 50 installs. I was already waiting for more than a week to see if it was a script that was working with a delay, but it seems like something is broken there for new apps.

ID of the app where we see the problem: 306581864449

Hi, thanks for flagging this. It seems like this is an issue of communication rather than a bug.

The BFS requirement 1.2.1 states:

Your app must have a minimum of 50 net installs from active shops on paid plans.

Net installs in this context means that the installs need to be on active merchant stores. We will update the docs in the future to be clearer. Again, thanks for flagging this.

Thanks @jzaz this makes sense. And indeed, some of the stores were still unpublished, which is probably why our calculation was incorrect.

Hey @jzaz,

can we see this number - active installs - somewhere in the Partners or Dev dashboard?

Also, there’s a huge difference between installs in Partners and Dev dashboard - Dev dashboard shows more than 2x the number of Partners.

Good callout here. We are looking into fixing all of this - especially the nomenclature.

Hi does this mean any app which offers only free plan cannot apply for BFS ?

When you say β€œfree plan” do you mean your app’s free plan?

Nevermind.

I thought merchant should be on the paid plan of the App but I believe it means Shopify paid plan.
