Change App's Launched Date

Hello,

Background: I have a private app (Launched date: Sept 17, 2024) that will allow Shopify merchants to send SMS/Emails based on some automation. Ever since launch, app has been unlisted for QA & Beta testing. In 2025, due to change in priority, we decided to not publicly launch the app. We are now ready to publicly launch the app.

Pain point: Since the launch date is almost 2.5 years old, my marketing team is fearful of the optics. I would like to switch this date to present since we are now ready to launch publicly.

Question: What can I do to change this launch date? Do I need to create a new Shopify app with all new App ID, Token, URL, etc? Or is there a way to keep the current app and switch the launched date?

You’ll most likely have faster turnaround by making a new app in the Shopify Partner dashboard and using it to publish publicly.

It doesn’t look like it’s possible to adjust the “Launched” date - if having a recent date is non-negotiable, the best option would be to create a new “public listed” version on the app.
