For me, a critical point in the new design is the impact on app accessibility caused by the reduced visual depth between elements. This makes the app harder to use overall, particularly for users with low vision or light sensitivity.
When viewing my app with the new design, I’ve noticed scenarios with nesting like white-on-white-on-white, which makes reading data difficult and exhausting even for people without visual impairments. This can also negatively impact less technical merchants who, due to a lack of sufficient contrast in key areas of the app, might end up feeling lost and overwhelmed.
So, in summary, I’d love to know if there will be documentation for the new design that explains the rationale behind shifting this concept from the old Polaris to the new one.
