Horizon Theme Update Problems

I have a few dev stores, and of course I want to try out Horizon.

I travel on over to the theme store from one of my dev stores, and I do the old “try theme” on the Horizon landing page. I notice the version is “1.0.1” which was released on May 22nd 2025.

When I add the theme to store, I am given version 1.0.0. When I visit the theme store, I am not graced with “Get The Latest Version”, but “try theme”. What gives here? It seems like I am locked into Version 1.0.0.

Furthermore, does the Horizon series of themes have some special install process? I noticed when I install the Horizon theme, the presets are different giving me different colors set and sometimes even a background image.

I am trying to archive theme versions as they come out, as there is no repo. Currently I feel significantly blocked from that, but most of all I seem blocked from upgrades.

Kindly asking, what gives? I have cross-posted this in some discord communities and the partner slack.

I think its just a mismatch in version numbers, all the other theme’s are 1.0.1.

Hi @Matthew_Crigger

I also notice that installing from the theme store will result in a lower version, but you can update from the admin:

Will flag this to the themes team

@Liam-Shopify

We did this via the Admin UX and it was fine.

Wondering why ‎snippets/collection-card.liquid was removed from 1.0.2, it wasn’t listed on the changelog.

Asking the team now!

@ChrisBradley

I’m seeing the collection-card snippet in 1.0.2:

@Liam-Shopify

My bad, my private github seems to have deleted the file and re-added it completely.
