Image alt text can now be translated

Starting with API version 2025-10, image alt text will be exposed as a TranslatableResourceType. This means that image alt text surfaced to the buyer will be eligible for translation through the Translations API.

Cool. Why isn’t it exposed in translate & adapt yet?

Hey @Leo_Cheron, 2025-10 is currently still a release candidate so that is likely why it’s not yet available in the translate and adapt app.

This is available through a CSV file currently, and I would recommend keeping an eye on the changelog for updates to the translate and adapt app Image ALT text can now be translated - Shopify Changelog

Hi! Is there a timeline for when we will be able to edit alt texts in the Translate & Adapt app? That would be really handy.

Hey @Apri, there is a feature request to add this, but I don’t have a timeline currently.
