Request: Ability to Change Partner Directory URL Slug After Listing Creation

Hello Shopify Developer Community,

I would like to request a feature enhancement regarding the Partner Directory listing URL.

Currently, once a Partner Directory profile is created, the URL slug cannot be changed. Additionally, the system does not allow redirects from the old Partner URL to a new one. This creates challenges for partners who may need to update their branding, agency name, or maintain consistency with their official domain and brand identity.

Why this matters:

  • Agencies often rebrand or refine their brand positioning over time.

  • Having an outdated or incorrect URL slug can create confusion and reduce trust.

  • It also causes inconsistencies between our official website, marketing materials, and Shopify Partner profile.

  • Lack of redirect support may result in broken links and lost traffic.

Suggested solutions:

  1. Allow partners to edit their Partner Directory URL slug.

  2. Alternatively, allow a one-time URL change option.

  3. Or implement automatic redirects from old URLs to the updated ones.

This feature would significantly improve flexibility and help partners maintain a professional and consistent brand presence.

Hi @Nurullah I also like this idea, it would definitely be a valuable improvement.

Just in case you didn’t notice, this was posted in the Shopify Markets forum, so you might want to move it to other section to get better visibility from the right team (maybe Dev Platform is the most related)

On our side, we went through the exact same situation. We were able to change the URL slug by reaching out directly to Shopify Partner Support, and they can apply this at the same time while you’re talking with them via chat

That said, I completely agree with you, this should ideally be something partners can manage directly from the Partner Dashboard!
