Storefront API returning stale data

I made an update to a metaobject entry a couple of hours ago and the API is still returning the old value. Same goes for a product metafield.

I tried making a clean API call outside of the codebase to see if I did it wrong but the issue still persists.

Happy to provide an API example with req/res data to Shopify staff in DMs, but I’m also wondering if anyone else has come across this issue today/recently.

Hey @Evonux - thanks for flagging this.

Just checking first, are you still seeing the stale Storefront API responses now, or has this started returning the updated metaobject/metafield values on your end? I don’t see any wider reports of this on our end, but I’m happy to help for sure.

If it’s still happening, could you share a bit more detail so we can look into a specific example on our end here?

  • Shop/domain
  • API version being used
  • Timestamp of a stale request
  • x-request-id from the stale Storefront API response
  • The metaobject entry ID and/or product metafield namespace/key
