Short description of issue
Theme editor frequently displays an option to override changes even when no collaborators have accessed the editor and there are no changes on GitHub.
Reproduction steps
- Open theme editor with no other active collaborators
- No pending changes on GitHub
- Editor shows override prompt despite no actual conflicts
Additional info
Expected behavior: Override prompt should only appear when actual conflicting changes exist
Actual behavior: Override prompt appears randomly, even with no conflicts present
- Issue occurs frequently/regularly
- Multiple team members experiencing the same problem
- Possibly related to internet connectivity or incomplete loading
- Refreshing the page temporarily resolves it
- Sometimes accompanied by another bug where clicking blocks/sections highlights them but doesn’t open the settings panel

Hi @Taksh_Shah, thanks for reaching out to report this issue.
Do you happen to have a Request ID when this prompt pops up incorrectly?
I dont have one now, but I’ll catch one next time I see this and share.
There us another maybe somewhat related (maybe unrelated) issue. The theme editor sometimes does not load the preview of changes and enable the save button. Gets stuck on loading phase with blue progress bar. Takes a good few minutes. I initially believed it maybe bad internet but I see this even tho I’m generally well connected over stable high-speed internet.
Hey @Paige-Shopify I saw that again a few times but there is no request ID in the UI. Any specific place I should be looking at?
For when the theme editor doesn’t load the preview of changes and enable the save button, is that when changes are made in the editor?
Any request in the network requests that might provide a Request ID would be useful
