Theme Editor Sidebar Toggles Hard to Click

Over the past couple of days, the collapse/expand chevrons in the Theme Editor sidebar (Shopify’s Polaris DisclosureAction buttons) have suddenly become almost impossible to tap with a light touch. The visible hit‐zone is very small, so on a trackpad you must land exactly in the tiny center and “hard-press” just to open or close a section.

Reproduces in every theme, including untouched backups.

No custom code, apps or browser extensions are responsible—disabling all scripts and styles doesn’t help.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a setting I’m missing, or is it a Shopify update and there are plans to restore a larger hit-zone on those sidebar toggles?

Since I’m the only one complaining I think its not Shopify but cant figure out what it may be.

Hey Bar - which browser are you using? I can’t seem to replicate this myself.

I usually use chrome on my win 11 laptop but also tried Edge and same issue.

Im having this same exact issue and it only happens when I soft touch my trackpad/mousepad on my laptop, but if I physically press it/click down, it works just fine. And this just started happening the same day you made this post… Strange! Computer is up to date, tried different browsers, updated chrome, same thing!

What computer/Laptop are you using?

’m on a Win 11 laptop. It’s actually still happening. But I narrowed it down to the device trackpad. I connected a cheap wireless keyboard with trackpad and it works flawlessly. But I still just hard press the laptop lol.

Me too! Man I don’t understand why this would be happening, because 3 weeks ago it was totally fine, and its not like its a right click issue or anything… when I tap my trackpad, it turns my cursor into a small little hand and the whole sections area, gets outlined with a blue dotted border… I am so lost as to what it would be, unless it had something to do with any recent windows updates… I will continue searching into this and see what I can find. What brand is your laptop if I may ask?

I use a Dell machine.
