UK finance teams on Zoho Books: how are you handling invoice payments and reconciliation?

Since Zoho Payments isn’t live in the UK yet, most teams I speak to are wiring up a gateway (Stripe, GoCardless, PayPal) to get a “Pay Now” link on invoices — then reconciling those against the bank feed afterwards.

A few things that seem to trip people up:

  • Gateway choice & fees: card vs direct-debit vs bank transfer all land differently on cost and settlement speed.
  • Reconciliation: matching a gateway payout (net of fees) back to the original invoice, so Books doesn’t show a mismatch.
  • Getting paid on time: recurring invoices, auto-reminders and late fees to bring DSO down.

Curious what the group is actually using in the UK and where it still needs manual clean-up. Happy to share what I’ve seen work.

Hey @Arun_Bathini, I want to caveat this by saying I’m personally not too familiar with the specific issue you are running into.

However, since this is a developer’s forum, reading over your post, I am wondering if there is a way you could wire it up using draft orders through Shopify instead of working through a third-party gateway? This way, at least all of the accounting is within Shopify when you’re doing your reconciliation.
