Last week, Shopify updated their app review system and claimed that it is to “Strengthening trust in App Store reviews”. But since then, our hard on 5 star reviews are been archived and few of them have been unpublished as well.
We are new app and we all know how hard it is to gain the trust of the Shopify merchants. But with the new update, shopify unpublished our 1st review from our 1st user that we got 10 months ago. He is still doing the business, still using our app and still paying to Shopify but the Shopify removed the review for no reason. That’s one case.
Another case, we have got 4/5 reviews our newly launched app in last 1 month. Shopify sent us the email notification that we have received all the reviews. But none of them published in to the app store listing. Here is the proof:
Now, someone will say that Shopify doesn’t count the reviews who haven’t are any paid plan to the shopify. But we want to ensure, the user installed and give us the review when he was in the trial plan, but he has purchased the paid plan of ours and we received the payment so he should be a paid plan user of shopify.
How this is fare to any app who are actually doing the hard work and getting the reviews after satisfying the Shopify merchants. I believe shopify partners or app owners should get the same attention and value that shopify is giving to the shopify merchants.
& Is there any solution to recover these reviews?
