App Review - Expected Timeline after a minor fix?

We submitted our app for review on April 17, 2026. We were surprised to see the status change to “we’re reviewing your submission” today – but then 5 minutes later, the reviewer rejected our app… turns out we didn’t set the “free” status on the demo store, and it got stuck behind a paywall. My own stupid fault.

So I reset what was needed, ran /shopify-app-store-review - and passes:
:white_check_mark: Likely passing: 29
:cross_mark: Likely failing: 0

Then I pressed the re-submit button.
Now it looks just like a new submission.
Same email reply as first submission. Hmm.

No indication that this was a minor cosmetic fix, not a rewrite.

@MarkT @Liam-Shopify - can you tell us if we are “starting over” (review timeline clock reset), or does the submission alert the reviewer that we resolved the issue?
Thank you!

Hi @Jeremy_R

You have re-entered the review queue. Generally, this round of review will take longer than the first one.

If anyone is following along…
After re-submit on April 17, and the minor “fix” on May 5…
On May 11 the reviewer was MUCH more specific, and the “new” UI to submit proof of the fix made is crystal clear how to communicate and prove compliance with the issue(s) presented by the reviewer.
The new UI offers a URL for providing proof of compliance - we linked to a document with embedded video as requested.
And within 48 hours, the reviewer approved the submission.

IMO, the combination of /shopify-app-store-review and the new UI is a welcome change to the process.
Thank you Shopify dev team.
