@Paige-Shopify@KyleG-Shopify@Alan_G would you help me notify about this issue to the team responsible for the collaborator requests please I can’t help the merchant because of this. Thanks!
“An account’s email on the store is the same as your partner business email. You can log into the store using that user, or ask the owner of the shop to remove the user.”
I confirmed that I don’t have access with my partner account email to the store I’m sending the request to, so the error message is incorrect.
Please help me out @Paige-Shopify@KyleG-Shopify@Alan_G, the merchant is having a serious problem and I can’t help them without the collaborator request.
@Pridentt The new error might be because there is as a pending user invite for your org’s business email on the shop. Can you have the shop check and remove any pending invites from their end?
Just chiming in here to say that is not the case. In fact, I’m not able see any pending invites, despite having received multiple collaborator requests in my email inbox this morning.
Thank you for sharing @wongww, this is exactly what happened to us!
Additionally, 1 day after I cancelled the first collaborator request, and couldn’t send a second one, the merchant reported that he could finally accept the request, I received an email from Shopify saying that it was approved, but I still didn’t have access to the store.
There’s definitely something wrong specifically with the collaborator request cancellation.
Can you both have the merchant reach out to support? We’ll need access to the shops to investigate exactly what went wrong with the requests. Thank you!
okay, i will ask them but to be honest they are busy merchants so not sure if they will have time to reach out to support to resolve a bug on the shopify side.
We are still seeing this issue and now mine also shows the same new error
There was a delay a few days ago in collaborator requests being sent to shops. We’ve shipped a fix to resolve the delay, so those initial requests have now shown up as pending in the merchant admin and can be accepted or removed if needed. If the error is still showing up with no pending invite in the admin, we’d need the merchant to contact support so we can access these shops to investigate.
@Paige-Shopify You may not have to deal with merchants, so just so you know. Most merchant get annoyed if we ask them to contact the Shopify support, and they’d blame us for something that is out of our scope.
We’ve cleared the “Email already in use” errors. Can anyone still experiencing the “An account’s email on the store is the same as your partner business email. You can log into the store using that user, or ask the owner of the shop to remove the user” error let me know?
Hi @Paige-Shopify, sorry for the late reply, I just confirmed right now that the issue is resolved, I cancelled a collaborator request, sent another, and it worked.
Appreciate the confirmation @Pridentt!
We’ve just cleared many “An account’s email on the store is the same as your partner business email. You can log into the store using that user, or ask the owner of the shop to remove the user” errors as well so issue should be fully resolved now.
And the new dev dashbaord does not have all the information. We’re wasting time daily since this happened we have to deal with two different dashboards to access everything.
I wished Shopify was putting more efforts into not breaking things before the alternative is ready.
thank you for pointing it out, I’m totally aware of this. My main complain right now is that the store’s information are now split between two dashboards and sending a collaborator request became very annoying. There is no link between them, we have to juggle with tools at our disposal and right now the UX is worse than before they released the new dashboard. It sounds like people designing this update are not actually using these tools on a daily basis.
My complain is that they’ve shipped something half backed and started to remove the tools from the old dashboard, which even if it was intentional is not welcomed until they’ve fully completed the work on the new dev dashbaord.
I’m honestly surprised that there are not more people complaining about this.
And seeing Shopify staffs silently ignore the few ones being vocal about it is really annoying me.
@Soufiane_Ghzal Happy to forward this feedback about the split between the two dashboards. Before I do, it would help to understand your workflow in more detail. Could you walk me through how you send a collaborator request today from start to finish? Which part of the old process made it more convenient for you?
