Collaborator Accounts - Access to User Permissions

Hiya,

So it seems that it’s no longer possible to provide collaborator accounts with permissions to manage other users.

Some of our clients really aren’t tech savvy, and ask us to assist with user permissions, providing access to new staff members and removing any whom have left.

I appreciate it’s a sensitive permission, but like with customer accounts - couldn’t it show a warning?

Seems like a step backwards…

While I’m at it, payment settings is also a pain point for the same reasons

I agree. We have a number of stores all ‘owned’ by our CEO. We now have to get the CEO to setup users and change permissions rather than our IT team? You know, the team in the company the CEO hires to do IT stuff?

Seems like a way to use up staff accounts and bump people up plans.

100% utter madness. I also have the issue where collaborator access is revoked after just 90 days of inactivity. Then a client calls needing support and we have to go through the whole rigmarole of me explaining where they can find the collaborator request code to send to me so I can request access and then talk them through how to grant that access - before I can even begin to help them with their issue. - Bonkers - and puts off clients asking for help for something that would take me a second to resolve. Instead they spend hours trying to figure it our for themselves and often making things worse! This in turn damages the Shopify brand as the user has a poor experience and is less likely to recommend the platform to other businesses.
