POS apps - 'Partially added' causing Tiles not to load

We are getting reports from merchants of tiles not loading in POS.

On investigation, we are seeing that in the POS apps settings, the apps are in a ‘partially added’ state. Some merchants are reporting that when they then remove and re-add, the state moves back to ‘added’ → however at some point later, it goes back to partial (meaning the tile stops working again)

Can you advise?

@Adam_Goodman Partially added just means that it’s not applied to all of their locations. Meaning that they may have added them to all their locations, but then it was removed at one of their locations. Curious why are they doing the whole delete re add flow to get it to work? They can kill POS and restart it’s much faster. We’re gonna look into the failures, but we haven’t seen a spike in our dashboards

Just sharing some additional context for this issue to help any others encountering this issue.

  1. Go to Shopify admin > Point of Sale > Locations and Check check the smart grid that is applied to each location:

  1. Then go to Settings > Smart grid and check each smart grid:

  2. You will likely notice that your app is missing in one or more smart grids. To add your app’s tile back to all smart grids, go to Settings > POS apps > Your app and click Remove and then Add.

  3. If it ever goes back to partial again at some point, perhaps someone is making changes to the smart grid for some locations on the shop.
