Occasionally we get these fake support requests through the Shopify App Get Support link for our app through the Shopify Admin dashboard by fake merchants.
Here’s the most recent example:
As you can see, they registered a real Shopify account, and the emails are routed through noreply@shopify.com
The Report a merchant form makes the most sense, but the Fraud action requires a URL to show evidence. This is an email, so it isn’t publicly hosted on a URL.
Is there a better option? Or a better tailored experience?
Keeping the Shopify ecosystem fair helps all, and reporting these bad actors shuts down these fake accounts faster and levels the playing field.
